Meet our Facilitator.

Jessica Desport, PhD

The short story.

Jessica is the founder and facilitator of INBLOOM solutions, with a background in polymer science research. She has a passion for helping young researchers empower their voice and develop the skills necessary to thrive in a professional setting. She also has a passion for accidentally killing desk plants.

The long story.

Jessica completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree studies at the University of Pau (UPPA) in France. She carried out graduate internships in the private sector, at Toyal Europe and Arkema in France and in academia, at the James Cook University (JCU), down under - in Australia. In 2017, she obtained a PhD in Applied Chemistry (with a specialization in polymerization processes) at the University of the Basque country (EHU/UPV) in Spain. Her PhD project was integrated in an industrial liaison program established between the POLYMAT institute and a consortium of 10 international companies. As a Junior researcher, she spent more than 2 years working on polymer analysis at the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) in collaboration with GoodYear. Then, she moved to the United States for a few months, where she started gathering content for INBLOOM’s future creation. Back in Europe in 2020, Jessica worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Amsterdam (UvA) in The Netherlands, where she was involved in a rich environment of fundamental and applied research.

Through her research stays, she has been fortunate to experience and develop a mature understanding of the most relevant soft skills for developing a career in research.

In 2022, she founds INBLOOM solutions, from Indonesia, while learning Bahasa Indonesia language and trying to stay away from mosquitos.

Jessica has full professional proficiency in English, French and Spanish – and she can chitchat in Bahasa Indonesia.
